• maintain, improve and protect the rights, interests and welfare of members in their employment and otherwise;
• provide or secure legal advice and legal representation for members in relation to their employment and welfare;
• represent and act as agent for members in any matter and forum related to their employment including working conditions, disputes, remuneration and benefits;
• foster the professional standards, training and standing of members;
• provide educational and information resources for members;
• advance the efficiency of emergency medical services;
• raise funds by fees, contributions, levies or other forms of impost or income to advance these objects and the interests of members;
• foster cooperation and harmonious relations with other organisations with similar objects;
• participate in or become a member of any national body with similar objects.
