To all my colleagues in the ASNSW,

As a member of the organising committee it is my great pleasure to advise you that the much talked about Association, your Association is now officially ready for business. The Emergency Medical Service Protection Association (NSW) Inc. is inviting eligible NSW Officers to take up membership. This Association has been a long time coming and will provide Paramedics, Patient Transport Officers and Emergency Medical Dispatchers (EMD?s) employed by the Ambulance Service of New South Wales with an alternative for their workplace representation. Your Association has no political affiliations and no hidden agendas other than the representation of you, the members. Your Association will not be in competition with the current Union but will moreover provide an alternative, a choice, to employee representation. EMSPA (NSW) Inc. is registered with the NSW Department of Fair Trading as an Incorporated Association allowing EMSPA (NSW) Inc. its own legal entity.

It must be stated that for any Association to be successful the participation of its members is paramount. We believe in democratic participation and have formulated a structure in order for all members to have the opportunity to express their opinion. Ultimately within a democracy the end point is majority satisfaction. It is your Association, they are your points of issue, it will be your right to vote. None of the administrative members are paid and all subscriptions will be used for the running and representation of the Association and members respectively

Links are provided on our website http://nsw.emspa.org.au enabling you to access information regarding our Policies of Operation i.e. rules and by-laws, Membership Fees and Membership Application Form. On acceptance, an information and membership package will be provided to all new members.

It is at this point I would like to express my gratitude and thanks to the executive committee of EMSPA (QLD) Inc. for providing their expertise, their enthusiasm and their total support and commitment in assisting with the establishment of EMSPA here in NSW. EMSPA (QLD) Inc. were also instrumental in providing the legal foundation upon which EMSPA (NSW) Inc. has been shaped. EMSPA (NSW) Inc. is an autonomous Association and represents NSW only. It will now be up to you the members to provide further cohesion to that foundation by providing a strong member base allowing the Association to move forward and provide one voice for all.

Finally, I would like to thank all of my colleagues who have assisted in the formation of this Association. Together we will all join forces to protect and improve our unique work environment.

Yours Sincerely,

Scott Clarke,
President,
EMSPA (NSW) Inc.
